WellSpace Clinician (She/Her)
Meg (she/her) provides therapy to individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief & loss and/or exploring questions around identity, relationships and other major life transitions. She graduated with a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of New England and holds certificates in Creative Arts and Aging and Diversity. Meg is guided by a philosophy that each person carries unique values, wisdom, resiliency, and an innate capacity to heal. Her style is always collaborative and trauma-sensitive. She draws from narrative/life story approaches as well as creative arts and mindfulness-based therapies to help individuals develop new insights and skills that ultimately empower them to feel freer in choosing lives that are meaningful to them. She has experience with ACT, CBT, DBT, emotion-focused and psychodynamic therapies.
Prior to WellSpace Maine, Meg worked with children and families experiencing grief and loss or facing life-impacting and terminal illness. She also worked as a therapist at the Maine State Prison and is a freelance writer and media artist. Meg has worked extensively with multicultural and marginalized populations and is committed to creating spaces that are equitable and inclusive. Curiosity, compassion, and collaboration are at the heart of Meg’s work. Her goal is to create a therapeutic setting that is safe and transparent and therefore conducive to building a strong therapeutic relationship that will lead to lasting healing.
