Eliana Cohen, LMSW-CC
WellSpace Clinician (She/Her)
Eliana believes that everyone possesses the capacity to experience happiness and fulfillment when in tune with their values and priorities–operating from a place of confidence rather than fear. Eliana knows that transitions and times of stuckness are often moments to understand ourselves better and deepen our commitment to meeting our own needs. She provides a safe and encouraging environment from which to explore and strengthen self-knowledge. She works with families and couples, as well as individuals of all ages, gender identities, faiths, and backgrounds.
Eliana describes her style as warm and collaborative. She utilizes a person-centered framework and draws from internal family systems (parts work), dialectical behavior therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness practices. Eliana supports clients navigating a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, life changes, relationship challenges, identity exploration, loneliness and friendship, medical diagnoses, parenting, trauma, and more.
Prior to joining WellSpace, Eliana worked as a family therapist supporting a range of familial structures in accessing more stable and harmonious relationships. She has also worked for the State of New York helping neighborhoods and communities resolve local conflicts. These experiences are part of what inform the liberatory and anti-oppression lenses that guide her work.
